These images consist of biomorphic forms inspired by the natural rhythms and patterns in nature and the inner body. My process begins by adding controlled drops of liquid paint in a pan of water and starch and then dragging with a tool, the paint that sits on surface. After colors spread and infiltrate one another, I lay paper on top, and remove to see forms that are fluid, loose, broken, sharp and spiny and resemble underwater sea plants. When dried, I paint over forms to redefine them in a more deliberate manner. This process intrigues me, as what starts out to be an accidental painting, develops into a personal vocabulary of lines and forms.
